Veterinary Services to Improve Public Health in Rural Communities Act

This bill increases support for veterinary services in tribal communities to help prevent and control diseases that can spread between animals and humans. It allows the Indian Health Service to spend money on these services and to send veterinary health officers to tribal areas where these kinds of diseases are common. The Department of Health and Human Services would have to report to Congress every two years on how the money is being used and what is being done to track these diseases. The bill also requires the Department of Agriculture to study whether oral rabies vaccines could be delivered to wild animals in Arctic tribal areas to help reduce the spread of rabies to people living there.
