Regional Leadership in Wildland Fire Research Act of 2025

This bill would create at least seven research centers across the country, located at colleges and universities, to study wildland fire. These centers would work on developing better tools to understand, monitor, and predict wildfires, as well as studying risks that happen after fires, like flash flooding. A national board would be set up to coordinate the work of all the centers and make sure they are not repeating the same research. Each center would also have its own advisory board, and all research and data from the centers would be made available to the public.
