This bill would let people deduct the costs of belonging to a health care sharing ministry from their taxes, just like other medical expenses. Health care sharing ministries are religious or faith-based groups whose members make regular payments to help cover each other's medical bills. The deduction would apply to both the payments members make toward shared medical costs and any administrative fees they pay to the ministry.
