Leveling the Playing Field 2.0 Act

This bill changes U.S. trade laws that deal with unfair pricing and foreign government subsidies on imported products. It sets up a process for running back-to-back investigations into unfairly priced or subsidized imports and gives the Department of Commerce new tools, like the ability to go after subsidies a foreign government gives to a company operating in a different country, to require importers to confirm their goods aren't subject to special trade duties, and to investigate whether foreign countries are deliberately undervaluing their currency as a form of unfair subsidy. The bill also puts specific deadlines and procedures in place for Commerce to follow when looking into whether companies are trying to get around existing trade duty orders.
