Critical Mineral Consistency Act of 2025

This bill changes the rules so that the list of important minerals kept by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) must also include any materials that the Department of Energy (DOE) has identified as essential for energy. When DOE adds something new to its list, USGS would have 45 days to update its own list to match. This matters because being on the USGS list makes materials eligible for certain benefits, like financial support or clean energy tax credits, that materials on only the DOE list don't currently qualify for.
