U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Retirement Technical Corrections Act

This bill changes how retirement benefits are calculated for certain U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers. Right now, CBP officers who were already working as of July 6, 2008, get a special retirement benefit without being forced to retire at a certain age. This bill says that officers who received a job offer before that date but didn't actually start working until on or after that date should also get that same special retirement benefit. The government would go back and fix the retirement payments for these officers and review the rules about mandatory retirement that may have affected them.
