Hospital Transparency Compliance Enforcement Act

This bill doubles the fines for hospitals that don't follow the rule requiring them to publicly post their prices for services and items. The fines vary based on hospital size, ranging from $600 per day for the smallest hospitals to $11,000 per day for the largest ones. The bill also requires the government agency that oversees Medicare and Medicaid to regularly publish the names of hospitals that aren't following the price transparency rules.
