Reduce Food Loss and Waste Act of 2025

This bill tells the Department of Agriculture to create a voluntary program where organizations like farms, grocery stores, restaurants, schools, and local governments can get certified for reducing food waste, donating extra food to nonprofits, or using other methods like composting or turning food into animal feed. The program would involve outside reviewers, with preference given to colleges that have expertise in reducing food waste, who would check whether participants meet the program's standards. Certified participants would get a special label they can use and would be promoted on the USDA website and at events. The bill also requires USDA, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Environmental Protection Agency to update an existing agreement about how they work together on food waste issues.
