Sarah's Law

This bill requires U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to hold individuals who are in the country without legal permission and have been charged with a crime that caused someone's death or serious injury. ICE must try to identify the victims of those crimes and share information about the detained person with the victim or, if the victim died, with their family or guardian. The shared information includes things like the detained person's name, date of birth, nationality, immigration status, criminal history, and any efforts to remove them from the country.
