Extreme Risk Protection Order Expansion Act of 2025

This bill creates a grant program run by the Department of Justice to help states, local governments, and tribal nations set up and carry out "red flag" laws. Red flag laws let certain people, like law enforcement or family members, ask a court to temporarily stop someone considered at risk from buying or having guns. The bill also makes it a federal rule that people under these court orders cannot receive, have, ship, or move firearms and ammunition. Additionally, it requires the FBI to collect records from courts and agencies to keep track of who is currently under one of these orders.
