Securing American Agriculture Act

This bill requires the Department of Agriculture to check every year how much the United States depends on China for important farming supplies and products, such as farm equipment, fertilizers, animal medicines, and seeds. The Department must send a report to Congress that includes ideas for reducing this dependence on China. The bill says the Department cannot force private companies to hand over information for these assessments, and it must follow rules to keep any collected information confidential.
