NASA Transition Authorization Act of 2025

This bill renews funding for NASA through the 2025 fiscal year and updates some of its programs while creating new ones. It tells NASA to keep working on sending astronauts to the Moon and Mars, including through partnerships with private companies, and to make sure humans can keep living and working in low-Earth orbit even after the International Space Station is retired by switching to a commercial space station. The bill also directs NASA to build a system for communication and navigation around the Moon, create a standard Moon time, continue research on drones and high-speed flight technologies, and develop a vehicle to safely bring the International Space Station out of orbit when it's no longer in use. Finally, it requires a government watchdog agency to report on fire and emergency services at NASA's launch facilities.
