This joint resolution would cancel a rule from the Department of Energy that was submitted on December 26, 2024. The rule set new energy efficiency standards for gas-powered tankless water heaters, requiring them to meet higher efficiency levels that the Department of Energy determined were technically possible and made economic sense. If this resolution passes, that rule would no longer be in effect.
