A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "California State Motor Vehicle and Engine Pollution Control Standards; Advanced Clean Cars II; Waiver of Preemption; Notice of Decision".

This joint resolution would cancel a notice from the Environmental Protection Agency that was published on January 6, 2025. That notice approved California's request for permission to set its own vehicle pollution rules, known as Advanced Clean Cars II. Under current law, states are generally not allowed to create their own vehicle emission standards, but California can ask for special permission to do so. This resolution would undo that approval.
