A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Energy relating to "Energy Conservation Program for Appliance Standards: Certification Requirements, Labeling Requirements, and Enforcement Provisions for Certain Consumer Products and Commercial Equipment".

This joint resolution would cancel a rule put out by the Department of Energy in October 2024. That rule updated requirements for how manufacturers of certain household products like washing machines and dishwashers, and certain commercial equipment like computer room air conditioners, report information, label their products, and follow energy efficiency rules. The rule was meant to bring reporting requirements in line with current energy-saving standards and to help the Department of Energy properly classify these products. This resolution would undo that rule entirely.
