A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration relating to "Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Fuel System Integrity of Hydrogen Vehicles; Compressed Hydrogen Storage System Integrity; Incorporation by Reference".

This joint resolution would cancel a rule created by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that set up two new safety standards for vehicles that run on hydrogen fuel. One standard covers how the hydrogen fuel system in these vehicles must perform during normal driving and after crashes, and the other standard covers the compressed hydrogen storage system to help make sure it does not leak or burst during use. The canceled rule was based on an international agreement about vehicle safety standards that the United States is part of.
