FORK Act of 2026

This bill creates a test program to help get free meals to kids in rural and low-income areas during the summer by using delivery vehicles. It requires the Department of Agriculture to give one-year grants of up to $100,000 to organizations like school meal programs so they can buy, fix up, or repair vehicles to deliver meals to children outside of a group setting, such as through grab-and-go service. The grants would go first to organizations in areas with tough economic conditions and that serve a large share of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and the program would try to spread the grants across different states.
