ANCHOR Act

This bill requires the National Science Foundation to create a plan to improve internet and cybersecurity systems on U.S. research ships that scientists use to study the ocean. The plan must assess what technology upgrades are needed, how much they will cost, how long they will take, and how different groups will pay for them. The National Science Foundation must give this plan to Congress within 18 months and later report on how well the improvements are working.
