DOE and USDA Interagency Research Act

This bill requires the Department of Energy and Department of Agriculture to work together on research and development projects by creating a formal agreement between the two agencies. The agencies can make deals to share costs and work with other federal agencies to make their research more effective. They must use a competitive process to review applications from federal agencies, national labs, colleges, and nonprofit groups. The research areas can include artificial intelligence, biofuels, electrical grid improvements, rural technology, wildfire prevention, agricultural data systems, workforce training, and ways to make farming more efficient while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
