Protecting Domestic Mining Act of 2025

This bill makes it so that federal agencies must permanently speed up the environmental review process for certain mining projects. It puts into law a rule from 2021 that allowed mining projects to qualify for a faster review process. The bill also blocks a proposed 2023 rule that would have limited the faster review process to only mining projects involving critical minerals, keeping the speedier process available to a wider range of mining projects.
