SOLAR Act

This bill stops the Department of Agriculture from giving money to solar energy projects that would convert certain types of farmland. The farmland includes prime farmland, unique farmland, and farmland that is important to states or local areas. There are exceptions for small projects under 5 acres, projects under 50 acres where most energy is used on the farm, and projects that have local government support and include plans to protect the farmland and restore it later.
