Strategic Ports Reporting Act

This bill requires the State Department to study and report to Congress about important ports around the world. The report must include lists of strategic ports owned or controlled by China and by the United States, an assessment of national security and economic interests related to these ports, an analysis of China's efforts to gain control of strategic ports, and suggested actions to protect ports from Chinese control. The State Department must also create a global map of foreign and domestic ports that are important to the United States for military, diplomatic, economic, or resource reasons.
