Rural Wellness Act

This bill makes behavioral and mental health treatment a priority under certain rural development programs run by the Department of Agriculture. It extends funding through 2029 for programs that help rural areas get substance use disorder treatment services. The bill prioritizes loans and grants for building mental health facilities and telehealth systems in rural communities. It also sets aside 17% of telemedicine grant money specifically for substance use disorder treatment projects, which is down from the current 20%.
