Modernizing Wildfire Safety and Prevention Act of 2025

This bill addresses wildfires by expanding emergency help, creating scientific monitoring systems, and increasing support for firefighters. It would speed up federal assistance for wildfire response and recovery, require payments within 90 days for certain emergency land restoration, and make wildfire risk reduction grants more accessible. The bill would also create new offices to monitor wildfires and smoke, develop risk maps, and establish grants for colleges to train people in wildfire emergency management. Additionally, it would help wildland firefighters keep their retirement benefits more easily and provide assistance to families of firefighters who are critically injured or killed.
