HELPER Act of 2025

This bill creates a program run by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to help certain workers get mortgages. Law enforcement officers, elementary and secondary school teachers, firefighters, and other first responders could qualify for a first-time mortgage on their main home without having to make a down payment. Instead of a down payment, they would pay a one-time mortgage insurance fee at the beginning.
