ROCR Value Based Program Act

This bill creates a new Medicare payment system for radiation therapy services. Under this system, hospitals, doctor groups, and radiation therapy centers would receive a single payment for each complete episode of cancer treatment instead of separate payments for each service. An episode starts when treatment planning begins and lasts either 30 days for bone or brain cancer that has spread, or 90 days for other cancer types. Most Medicare providers must participate in this program unless they qualify for an exemption, and they can receive extra payments if they provide transportation services to patients.
