Correcting Guam’s History in the PACT Act

This bill changes the rules for veterans who served in Guam and later got certain diseases linked to herbicide exposure. Currently, veterans must have served in Guam between January 9, 1962, and July 31, 1980, to qualify for the assumption that their disease was caused by their military service. The bill would expand this time period to include service between August 15, 1958, and July 31, 1980. When veterans qualify for this assumption, they can receive health care benefits and disability pay without having to prove their disease was caused by their military service.
