Improving VA Training for Military Sexual Trauma Claims Act

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide annual training to employees who handle claims for mental health conditions like PTSD that result from military sexual trauma. The VA must update this sensitivity training at least once a year and report to Congress about the training and any plans to improve it. When helping veterans with these claims, the VA must get the veteran's medical records and, if needed, their personnel records to look for supporting evidence. The VA must also report to Congress about training for contracted healthcare workers who examine veterans making these claims and how to prevent veterans from being retraumatized during examinations.
