Lowering Egg Prices Act of 2025

This bill would allow surplus eggs that were originally meant for hatching chickens to be used in liquid egg products for people to eat. Right now, these surplus hatching eggs cannot be sold for food because they are kept warmer than regular eggs and are not refrigerated within 36 hours like most eggs for eating must be. The bill would let these surplus hatching eggs be sold to facilities that make liquid egg products, as long as the liquid eggs are pasteurized to kill bacteria.
