FAFSA Act of 2025

This bill says that anyone convicted of assaulting a police officer or rioting would no longer be allowed to receive federal student financial aid, including grants, loans, or work-study assistance. If someone already received a grant before being convicted, that grant would be turned into a loan that they have to pay back, with interest added going all the way back to when the grant was first given. These converted loans would not qualify for any loan forgiveness or cancellation programs.
