Protecting Students with Disabilities Act

This bill stops the government from using federal money to get rid of the Department of Education's role in overseeing special education programs for children with disabilities. The bill specifically prevents using funds to eliminate or restructure the offices that run these disability programs, fire or reassign workers in those offices, or give the job of running these programs to anyone outside the Department of Education. Currently, the Department of Education manages programs that provide special education and early intervention services for children with disabilities through federal grant programs.
