John W. Walsh Alpha-1 Home Infusion Act of 2025

This bill would allow Medicare to cover a specific treatment for people who have a protein deficiency called alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency that has caused them to develop emphysema. The treatment, called augmentation therapy, could be given at home through qualified suppliers. Patients would need to be under the care of a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant to receive this coverage.
