ABC Act

This bill requires the government agencies that run Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Social Security to look at their paperwork and processes and find ways to make things easier for family caregivers. For example, they should try to reduce situations where caregivers have to send in the same information to multiple programs. The agencies must get feedback from family caregivers and related organizations, make improvements, and report back to Congress on what they did. The bill also requires the agency that oversees Medicaid and CHIP to send a letter encouraging states to do a similar review of their own processes.
