REPEAL CBO Requirements Act

This bill would let most congressional committee chairs get cost estimates for their bills from large private accounting firms instead of the Congressional Budget Office. Currently, the Congressional Budget Office must provide cost estimates for most bills that committees approve. Under this change, committee chairs could choose one of the 10 biggest accounting firms to estimate costs instead. If they use a private firm's estimate, that estimate would be used for budget rules and the Congressional Budget Office could not make its own estimate for that bill.
