MAIN Event Ticketing Act

This bill makes it illegal to use automated software, like bots, to buy event tickets online in ways that break a ticket seller's purchasing rules or get around their security systems. It also requires online ticket sellers to put safeguards in place to protect their websites and to report any known cases of people getting around those protections to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Law enforcement agencies at all levels are expected to work with the FTC to share information about cyberattacks on ticket-selling websites. The bill sets up fines for anyone who breaks these rules and allows the FTC to take legal action against violators.
