Local Communities & Bird Habitat Stewardship Act of 2026

This bill officially puts into law a program called the Urban Bird Treaty Program, which is run by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The program works with communities to help protect and manage birds that live in or travel through cities and urban areas. It also sets up grants, managed by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, that can go to government agencies, community groups, and schools or universities for activities related to bird conservation in these areas.
