REPORT Act

This bill says that when the President raises or lowers tariffs on goods coming into the United States using emergency or special powers, the public and Congress must be told about it. The President would have to publish a notice and a detailed explanation in the Federal Register within 48 hours of making the change. On top of that, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative would have to meet with certain congressional committees within seven days to explain why the President made the decision.
