Eliminating Leftover Expenses for Campaigns from Taxpayers (ELECT) Act of 2025

This bill would end the option on your tax form that lets you send $3 of your taxes to help pay for presidential election campaigns. It would shut down both the fund that pays for presidential general election campaigns and the account that provides matching money for presidential primary campaigns. Any money left in those funds would be moved to the general treasury and used only to help reduce the national deficit.
