Supporting Healthy Mothers and Infants Act of 2025

This bill changes the WIC nutrition program to better help people affected by substance use disorders. The Department of Agriculture and Department of Health and Human Services would work together to create nutrition education materials specifically for these individuals, including materials for babies affected by substance exposure before birth. The agencies would also reach out to people who might qualify for WIC and are dealing with substance use disorders, and make training materials available to states through an online resource center. The bill also updates the language in current WIC program rules by replacing "drug abuse" with "substance use disorder."
