Farmers Feeding America Act of 2025

This bill renews and increases funding for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which gives free food to people with low incomes. The program allows the Department of Agriculture to buy various foods like fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, and grains and give them to states to distribute. The bill provides special delivery options for Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories that are far from the mainland, including letting these places buy local food directly or get cash instead of some commodities. It also allows the Agriculture Department to consider factors beyond just price when choosing contractors for fresh produce packages.
