Increasing Behavioral Health Treatment Act

This bill removes rules that usually prevent the federal government from paying for mental health services provided in special mental health facilities through Medicaid for people under 65 years old. States that choose to cover these services would have to make it easier for patients to get mental health care outside of facilities, expand crisis help services, improve coordination between healthcare providers and emergency responders, and report information about how these facilities are used and their costs.
