Tsunami Warning, Research, and Education Act of 2025

This bill extends funding for the federal tsunami warning program through 2030 and adds new activities to help protect coastal areas from tsunamis. The program, run mainly by the National Weather Service, would expand its warning systems to include satellite information, better coordination between agencies, and updated maps showing which areas could flood during a tsunami. The bill also requires the program to create better tools for predicting tsunamis and develop a research plan every three years to improve how scientists detect and forecast these ocean waves.
