Gun Records Restoration and Preservation Act

This bill would remove several limits on what the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives can do when enforcing gun laws. Currently, there are rules that restrict how the agency can use gun tracing information, what information it can share publicly, and how it handles gun dealer records. The bill would also allow the agency to require gun dealers to count their inventory and to keep background check records for longer than 24 hours.
