Have You Served Act

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to give grants to states, U.S. territories, American Indian tribes, and Alaska Native tribes so they can run campaigns encouraging professionals and local governments to ask people whether they or a family member have served in the military. To receive a grant, the state or tribe must submit a plan to the VA for preventing veteran suicide. The grant money must be used to train people on how to ask about military service and connect veterans to available resources. The VA must also create a plan to run similar campaigns across all federal departments and agencies.
