Health Care Worker and First Responder Fairness Act

This bill would make it so that health care workers and first responders who earned money during the COVID-19 pandemic would not have their Social Security benefits reduced because of those earnings. Normally, people who collect Social Security before full retirement age can have their benefits cut if they earn too much money from working. The bill also allows the Social Security Administration to give similar protection to health care workers and first responders during other declared public health emergencies where there is a shortage of health care workers.
