Energy Threat Analysis Center Act of 2026

This bill renews and expands a Department of Energy program designed to protect energy infrastructure, like power grids, from cyber threats and other dangers. It sets up an Energy Threat Analysis Center where the government and energy companies can work together to better understand and defend against attacks from adversaries. The bill gives the Secretary of Energy broad authority to make contracts and partnerships to carry out the program, and it removes a requirement to provide technical assistance to small electric utilities. It also exempts the program from certain transparency and public disclosure rules and states that decisions about sharing information or assistance under the program cannot be challenged or reviewed.
