Yes, Where you put your money should be able to be followed at least above a specific threshold because we need to know how people spend their money if they are future leaders. Nobody cares about the everyday people. It is only leaders of our state and nation. There needs to be no room for two sidedness. You are where you put your money POINT BLANK.
I oppose this bill. While stronger safeguards are reasonable, eliminating the 200 reporting threshold does not sit well. Requiring campaigns to verify donor identities, billing information, and suspicious transactions can improve election integrity without publicly exposing every person who gives 5, 10, or 15 dollars to a candidate. Small donors should not have to sacrifice their privacy simply to participate in the political process. I would prefer a bill that would preserve strong verification and fraud prevention without publicly disclosing.
