Department of Energy Nuclear Transparency Act

This bill requires the Department of Energy to publicly post information on a website within 72 hours whenever it takes actions related to approving or authorizing its nuclear facilities, including safety analyses and any changes to safety rules for those facilities. The nuclear facilities covered are those classified under three hazard categories based on how much radioactive material they contain and the potential risk to people and the environment. The Department of Energy would also have to publish a yearly report describing all the actions it took during the previous year to authorize these nuclear facilities.
