Green Ribbon Act of 2026

This bill makes the Green Ribbon Schools program an official part of the law and expands it. The bill requires the Department of Education to set aside money for schools connected to the Bureau of Indian Education, give grants to states to help schools become "green schools," and provide a cash award to winners. It also creates a similar award program for places like libraries, museums, and zoos, and sets up a new office within the Department of Education focused on school buildings and sustainability.
