Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act of 2026

This bill makes changes to the H-2A visa program, which allows foreign workers to come to the United States for agricultural jobs. Currently, these visas are only for seasonal or temporary farm work, but this bill removes that limit so workers can be hired for year-round agricultural jobs, and it expands the types of work that qualify to include things like reforestation, aquaculture, and livestock work. The bill also creates a path for unauthorized workers already doing agricultural jobs in the U.S. to get H-2A visas if they meet certain requirements, and it requires the government to set up online systems where employers can post job offers and submit paperwork. Additionally, the bill writes into law the current method used to calculate the minimum wages that employers must pay H-2A workers to make sure those wages don't negatively affect pay for other workers doing similar jobs.
